Aaron Duran is founder and head writer of GeekintheCity.com, a website devoted to the latest in movies, comics, tabletop games, digital pastimes, and all things Geek. His fascination with comics, film, music, and obscure trivia has transformed into a lifelong pursuit of pop culture knowledge. A precocious writer who started out by spinning elaborate stories based on his favorite sci-fi and adventure franchises, he befuddled his grade-school teachers, who were convinced that no child could write that well at such a young age. When not hard at work on his plans for world domination, Aaron creates highly acclaimed independent films, freelances in many forms of media, explores the minutiae of pop culture, and shares his love of all things Geek with the world through his writing.

Issue 458 – Forging to Waterdeep

Waterdeep! Waterdeep! Yup, we open odd and stay in the goofy world. First, we nerd out over the early SDCC news coming out. Then, we roll into our love of video games, old and new. Finally, we continue the Vulcan trilogy with No Take Bakulas. Also, we open with ABBA. No, really.

Greetings Programs. We return after the July 4th holiday with a deep thanks to everyone that donated to our RAICES charity. Then, there is much nerdery in the world of comics, both of goodbyes and helloes. Then, No Take Bakulas kicks off season 4 with The Forge and the Vulcan reveal. Finally, much love is given to Farmland by Rob Guillory from Image Comics.

Issue 456 – New Nerd Camp

Greetings Programs. The gang are joined by Sarah Gulde to talk about the all new Nerd Camp – Free Night! Join in the nerd fun at Red Castle Games to help raise money for Snow Cap Charities. Then – Aaron, Bean, and Kaebel get all kinds of nerdy and that’s before they resort to an acapella version of Faith of the Heart for No Take Bakulas. Also, a short and rather awkward review of a new Mike Hammer comic.

Issue 455 – Wine and the Gang!

Greetings Programs. This week, we record live from Pairings Portland to sample and talk about the wines based on Aaron, Bean, and Kaebel. Even more important, we learn who is the best. The. Best. (Or, at least their wine). And yes, it’s a little noisy, but that’s life in the live recording world. But listen and maybe learn a bit and you too can sound cool at your next adult party.
