History of Geek in the City

Aaron Duran

GEEK IN THE CITY began, unofficially, close to 15 years ago around 3 am within a dimly lit Denny's in a small rural town in Northern California. Not San Francisco, but the real Northern California, the one with gun racks and beer bottle flower vases.

There, a teen Geek, still riding the high of slaying the dreaded dragon Tiamat and downing his fifth cup of Denny’s coffee while munching a Moons Over My Hammy, Aaron began to rant about movies.

Never without an opinion about pop culture, Aaron would rant to anyone who would listen and more so to those who would not. It is unfortunate that it took him close to 15 years to actually listen to his friends who constantly told him: "Dude, you should totally write this crap down".

Today, Geek in the City is a worldwide phenomenon of pop culture rambling and rants with a helping of usable information. Also sick of great games, comics, movies, and music not finding an audience, Aaron has made Geek in the City the premiere destination site for lesser known, but wholly worthy subjects of entertainment.

Come on in. See what swirls around with in the mind of the Geek in the City!
