The title really does say it all. Deepest thanks to Portland’s comic book community and everyone that puts in their very limited and incredibly valuable time. Without that passion, well, The Stumptown Comics Fest wouldn’t exist. And, a world without Stumpy is not a world I want to be a part of. I wanted to list everyone involved, but I live in constant fear of excluding a name out of pure forgetfulness on my part - So instead, pop on over to Stumptown Comics Fest, if you see a name, you need to thank them. Be they organizers, promoters, sponsors, creators, or vendors. Each one is an integral part of a very complicated but wholly beautiful machine.
Above are some rather poorly taken shots (from my own over-worked cell phone) during the Comic Award Show and Comic Battle. Hit this link if you want to see all the wonderfully wacky and beautiful stories that happen ever minute of every second of the 2010 Stumptown Comics Fest.
Geek in the City is proud to present the Iron Man 2 midnight premiere on Thursday May 6th - Experience Marvel’s metallic Avenger as he is meant to be seen and heard - In glorious digital projection and sound. You will not seen a better presentation of Iron Man 2 than the Roseway Theater. But wait, there’s more! At 9pm Paramount is allowing the hard core True Believers to catch a revival screening of the first Iron Man film! Sure, most of us own the DVD, but do most of us own a 45+ foot screen, wide and cushy seats, and the best damn popcorn in town? Didn’t think so. (Paramount is requiring separate ticket purchase for Iron Man and Iron Man 2, but 2 shows at the Roseway Theater is still a better deal than 1 at any other chophouse in town).
Why even bother claiming an episode is epic, when clearly epic is the new standard with GeekintheCity Radio. First, Aaron recounts why he no longer pulls of April Fools pranks. Then, the 2nd installment of Pulling From Aaron’s Box with a review of The Governator by Antarctic Press… Can ya’ guess what happens? Finally, Scott and Dan provide two of the greatest film reviews ever as they both tackle Clash of the Titans. Worst movie ever, or, the most stunning Metal Video you’ve ever seen?! All that and a primer for Comics Month all through April in Portland.

We use the word EPIC a whole lot on this show. And this show is no different! First, Scott and Dan talk about strange encounters at Devil’s Point. Then, Aaron sits down with Dawn of the Dreadfuls author MasterSteve Hockensmith - with a special appearance by Jane Austin. Then, the Lovely Jenn sits in and gives her review of Dawn of the Dreadfuls. Next, GeekintheCity Radio debuts it’s newest segment - Pulling From Aaron’s Box where we review Nemesis by Mark Millar. Finally, Dan Clark breaks down how you’re gonna’ be spending your Gamestorm weekend!
And - if you want to win your own copy of Dawn of the Dreadfuls - Email the answer to this simple question: Scott Dally finally earns a superhero name. What is it? Send your answers to aduran@geekinthecity.com
